Colossus and the Amazon Queen

Another Italian sword and sandal epic, this one is from 1960 and was orignally called La Regina delle Amazzoni.
Ed Fury plays Glauco, the strongest man in Greece. He and his buddy Pirro (played by Rod Taylor) sign up aboard a ship for some adventure, but they and the crew end up being drugged and captured by Amazons to be new slaves.
And then there's something about a sacred girdle.
This is first-rate frommage: badly acted, badly directed, and badly dubbed. There's a show-stopping dance number in the middle. The musical score is mostly made up of 1940s big band music. It's only saving grace is that it's very light-hearted and doesn't take itself very seriously, which is a good thing because if it did, this film would be unbearable. Actually, it often plays as straight farce, and even gay farce at times. This is Greeks and Amazons after all....
